History

The company of Finn-Tack has come a long way from its humble roots. It was started in 1982 by Gunnar Gangsö, in the small city of Lahti. Finn-Tack developed its own production in Eastern Europe in 1992 and at the same time began its sales to western Europe. In 1996, production was moved to a newly renovated location in Ukraine. With a growing demand for product and selection, a second line of production was started in China in 2004. For western riding and the American market, a third production plant was initiated in Mexico, in 2005.

Now

28 years later Finn-Tack still has its headquarters in Lahti, but has grown to include three production plants and an international base of 50 staff, offering service in 7 languages (English, Finnish, French, Italian, Norwegian, Russian, and Swedish).

A very contemporary company, Finn-Tack is continuously expanding to meet the demands of the modern trotting world. We offer a wide selection of quality products - in a huge variety of colours and sizes. All equipment is thoroughly tested before they are introduced to the market to ensure optimum security and comfort to both horse and driver. Finn-Tack prides itself in offering fantastic quality at an affordable price. As a market leader for horse equipment, we have expanded our product range with Horse Care products and riding equipment to meet the demands for all horse / equine sports.

And as if that wasn't enough, we also boast efficient and reliable service throughout the entire process.

Pharmacare

In summer 2005, Finn-Tack acquired another production facility. Finn-Tack purchased Pharmacare Nova OY, a pharmaceutical production specializing in horse care and liniments - a company which has been successful in the market for ten years. The production for this product line is situated at Finn-Tack's headquarters in Lahti, Finland. This product line is growing as fast as any part of Finn-Tack, and is now expanding outside of Finland to meet the European demand.

Production

Finn-Tack has three production plants, in three locations around the globe: Mexico, China, and the Ukraine. These factories collectively employ over 130 people, and cater to the demand for Finn-Tack products in different parts of the world.

Ukraine

Finn-Tack's production plant in the Ukraine is the oldest and most established of the three, having been in production for more than ten years. All production materials for this factory are sent from our base in Finland. This Ukrainian factory employs 85 people. It was moved into a new production building in 2005, with 3000 square meters for production. Most of our trotting equipment is produced there, including leather, nylon, and textile products.

China

Finn-Tack's production plant in China was started in 2004 and currently employs 45 people. The plant has grown so fast that it too was moved into a new building last year - a building boasting 4000 square metres of production space. This factory is where most of our textile products are produced, including girths, saddle pads, leg protection, blankets, and riding clothes.

Warehouse

One of Finn-Tack's warehouses is located at our headquarters in Lahti. Products are stored and packaged from our 5000m2 stock. In the same building we have 1000 m2 stock of production raw materials, a 900 m2 production area for PharmaCare, and 1000 m2 of offices.

Finn-tack purchased a new warehouse in Holland in 2008 to accommodate our ever-growing needs.  The warehouse consists of a 1600m2 pallet area and a 3800m2 picking area. With a motivated team of employees in each warehouse and the ambition to be the best within logistics on the market, we are able to deliver fast and reliable service to all our customers!

In order to expand our sales even farther around the world, Finn-Tack purchased a warehouse in the United States in March 2008. This warehouse is 3000 m2 and serves all of the United States as well as Canada.

For the Modern World

Our warehouse is moving in a new direction to better meet the high demand for punctual and accurate service. Beginning autumn 2006, all products will be bar-coded - ensuring that they are compatible with EAN bar-coding. From production until the products are sent from location, barcodes will be used so that all transactions can be traced.

For North American deliveries, UPS is used for shipping all ground deliveries. If the order is placed before 3:00 pm eastern time, the order will be sent out the very same day.
